| One day facebook will be considered antiquated technology. They will likely start the exodus themselves...either though continued privacy concerns or people's dislike for targeted advertising. All they have to sell is their user base...when that dwindles so will their revenues. I'm sure it will be around a long time (AOL is still here) but it won't wear the crown forever. My reasons (and many I know) for not creating an account are not to be some non-conforming internet hipster. I don't give a shit about what people I know (or people my friends know) are doing every minute. I don't care what score they got on a game. I don't care that they like X or Y. When I do care I pick up the phone or go meet for dinner. I most certainly don't want to arm some other company with my preferences to they can target advertise to me. The only scenario I could see me making an account would be if I were single and dating. I've been told its a great way to connect with old girlfriends. As a married guy, I've never seen anything there worth my time. If whatever it does works for you thats great.
